Head over to Sao Mai on 203 1st Ave, New York, NY 10003 to have (in my humble opinion) the best Vietnamese food in New York!
I was tasked with exploring NYC to find a business with any signage that could be redesigned in exchange for their original sign. While eating in Sao Mai, I spotted their cube tip jar with a little paper taped upon the front: “Tips are appreciated! Thank You Pho Your Generosity ◡̈ ” with the cutest little cartoon pho on it. After getting the owner’s permission, I began doodling away.
A few weeks later, I returned with a series of stickers, making sure they maintained their copywriting and artistic choices, and redecorated the jar.
