I’m just 開玩笑-ing!
09/2021
In my sophomore year at Parsons, I was tasked with “expressing the meaning of a personal mantra through typography, spacing & placement of letters.”
A language near and dear to me is Chinglish, the combination of Chinese and English. “I’m just 開玩笑-ing!” is a Chinglish phrase a friend and I came up with one summer day, essentially meaning, “I’m just kidding!”
To bring the mantra to life and give it the fun-loving personality it has, I animated the words to dance around, frame by frame, in little gifs!
